G&S Atkins Contracting

This month, we had the pleasure of holding a 1 on 1 training session on Trimble Siteworks Positioning Systems with the team from G&S Atkins Contracting.

Based in Dwellingup, Graham and Sandy Atkins started G&S Atkins Contracting in 1990 as a small fencing and farm work business, and have since grown to specialise in rural property improvements with a reputation for top quality service and outstanding workmanship. Their range of services also include: fencing, earthworks, water works, sand pads, roads, demolition and rubbish removal.

As a small family operated business, G&S Atkins Contracting know the challenges of competing with larger construction firms. While some small businesses may think technology such as Trimble Siteworks is too costly or out of their league, Sandy said the technology pays for itself. Using traditional methods, G&S Atkins Contracting would use two employees to manually map out fences, but with Trimble Siteworks a single employee can efficiently handle the task using a vehicle instead of walking. This leap in efficiency not only saves them time (1 week of man hours per month), but also significantly reduces the chances of errors, leading to cost savings by eliminating the need for rework.

Sandy also pointed out that staying up to date with the latest high-quality technology allows them to remain competitive with larger businesses, and helps them to attract new customers as they can spend less time on a project and offer better quality services.

The team at G&S Atkins Contracting said they appreciate the level of support they received throughout their experience with SITECH WA, from sales to support. Unlike some of our cheaper counterparts, SITECH WA has a dedicated support team to make sure you get the most out of your Trimble product.
